The encoder page says “no signal”
- Copy the stream key again, completely. A missing character is the most common cause.
- Check that your network allows outgoing connections on port 1936 (RTMPS) or 1935 (RTMP). Company networks often block these.
- Restart the stream on your encoder. The encoder page updates within about 15 seconds.
Viewers see stuttering or buffering
- Check your own upload first: the stream needs a steady 8 Mbit/s, so at least 12 Mbit/s of upload. Use a wired connection.
- Lower the bitrate to 6 Mbit/s if your upload is shared or unstable.
- If only one viewer has problems, it’s their connection: they need about 10 Mbit/s download.
A viewer can’t connect
- After switching networks (Wi-Fi to 4G, or a VPN on or off), the viewer should reload the page.
- Some company VPNs and shared mobile connections interfere with the stream. Ask the viewer to try without the VPN or on another network.
- Check in your viewer list that the room isn’t full (10 viewers) and that you haven’t removed the viewer.
The colors look different from my suite
- Check that you send Rec. 709 and that your encoder doesn’t apply its own color processing.
- Ask viewers to follow Watching a session. Displays without a reference mode will always differ somewhat.
