From suite to screen
- Your output goes into an encoder, which compresses it to 1080p H.264 at a constant 8 Mbit/s.
- The encoder sends the stream over an encrypted connection to our streaming server in Germany.
- Each viewer who unlocks the room gets a personal, short-lived access token, and the server delivers the same stream to every viewer over a secure connection.
- The player in the browser or iPad app keeps a buffer of about half a second and shows the picture.
The whole path takes less than two seconds, and every viewer sees the same moment.
What it means for quality
We never re-encode your picture, on purpose: every extra compression step changes the image. Viewers get exactly the stream your encoder makes. Quality therefore depends on your encoder settings and your upload, and on each viewer’s connection and display. It’s review quality, 8-bit 4:2:0 in Rec. 709, not a reference monitor.
What it means for security
Access tokens are personal and tied to the viewer’s connection. That keeps a copied link from working elsewhere, and it is why a viewer reloads the page after switching networks. Nothing is recorded or stored on the way.
