With a room subscription, your clients watch on your own address, such as remote.yourstudio.com, with your logo and colors. Passes run on yourname.gradetonic.com.
Before you start
- An active room subscription.
- Access to the DNS settings of your domain, at your registrar or at Cloudflare.
- A subdomain, such as
remote.yourstudio.com. The bare domainyourstudio.comcan’t be used.
Connect your domain
- In your admin, open Domains and enter the address, for example
remote.yourstudio.com. - At your DNS provider, add the two records the Domains page shows:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | remote |
custom.gradetonic.com |
| TXT | _gradetonic.remote |
gt-verify=… (copy it from the Domains page) |
- Save, and set the TTL to 5 minutes if you can choose.
- Gradetonic checks your records every 5 minutes. When they’re found, the status changes to Verified.
- Open your address in a browser. The certificate is issued on that first visit, and the status changes to Active.
Good to know
- Cloudflare: set the record to DNS only (grey cloud). With the proxy on (orange cloud), viewers can’t connect.
- CAA records: if your domain has them, they must allow
letsencrypt.org. - You can connect up to 3 addresses.
- Your admin stays on
yourname.gradetonic.com/admin. - If your subscription ends, the address stops working. When you subscribe again it works again without changing DNS. The TXT record can be removed once the domain is verified.
